Abstract
- The article focuses on several issues related to education and schools that have been debated in the British Parliament between January 16 to 20, 2006 in Great Britain. The House of Commons Public Account Committee (PAC) on Improving School Attendance, School Closures and Surplus Places, and School Milk are the issues that have been discussed in the House of Commons. There are other issues, such as prison (education), and Education in Schools, which have been discussed in the House of Lords. The PAC published its report on improving school attendance. The PAC noted that the Great Britain Department for Education and Skills has had two targets to reduce unauthorized absence in schools and has missed both targets. Unauthorized absence in maintained schools remained static for years, before increasing in 2004-05.
