Abstract

The article offers news briefs concerning education. The National Advisory Council on Education Professions Development has issued a warning that meaningless evaluation is damaging educational innovation. A program is conducted jointly by the Minnesota State Department of Education and the University of Minnesota which aims to improve library facilities and services for Minnesota Indians. The Comparative and International Education Society will sponsor a program of seminars planned and directed by the faculties of comparative education of the University of Hamburg in Germany. The Spokane Schools in Washington will participate in the first year of the national assessment project. Several mini-courses are offered to seventh and eighth graders at the Grout Elementary School in Portland, Oregon.
