Abstract
- The article compares the adolescence of the U.S. in other cultures. The researchers categorized adolescence in other cultures into three. First, certain intercultural studies are basically ethnographic. Second, comparative studies assess similarities and dissimilarities among adolescents of two or more cultures. Third, cross-cultural studies test hypotheses within a theoretical framework. In other countries, State delegates authority over the child. Parents share responsibilities for the socialization of children and adolescents with peer collective and official organizations. Public recognition and criticism are the chief methods of social control and pressures toward conformity are enforced by the youth league.
