A Diplomate Program for the Professor of Education.

The article presents a professional diploma program for education professors in the U.S. The program is proposed as a tentative solution to the problem of professionalization. Professional diploma separates competent teachers categorically from the incompetent teachers. It will also motivate an incompetent teacher to strive hard in order to become competent or to move to another occupation. Universities should also position their pride based on the number of diploma holders on their faculty members. Professors receiving the professional diploma are referred to as a diplomate.
