Annotated Listing of New Books.

The article presents information about the book "The Institutional Foundations of East Asian Economic Development: Proceedings of the lEA Conference Held In Tokyo, Japan," edited by Yujiro Hayami and Masahiko Aoki. Sixteen papers in the book is from a conference held in Tokyo in December 1996 to explore the institutional conditions framing East Asian economic development. Papers focus on institutional conditions for effective technology borrowing in East Asia, the place of institutions in the economy, a West Asian's view of East Asian economic development, total-factor-productivity-growth controversies, institutions, and economic performance in East Asia.
