Abstract
- The article presents a study investigating some features of communicating health messages to young people who are below average in reading and learning abilities. The effective communication with such persons can be influenced by three major factors: their psychosocial needs, the quality of the message channel, and the suitability of the educational material. It was found essential in the study that the health educators consider the psychosocial needs but the factors such as peer group norms and socio-cultural background need special attention.
