Abstract

The article describes the case of a patient who got infected with Brucella melitensis. Brucella melitensis is the causative agent of Brucellosis, a systemic disease that can affect any of the major organs in the human body. In January 2005, the patient developed fever with an irregular course and further developed hearing loss. Investigations for species and biovar identification were performed and the strain was identified as B. melitensis.
