Abstract

The article discusses issues related to the intensive collaboration between scientists and teachers as identified by the Elementary Science Study of Educational Services Inc. According to the author, intensive collaboration between scientists and teachers resulted in the discovery that scientists and teachers do not necessarily understand their own subject matter well enough to see the fruitful paths that children may learn to follow. In addition, the author thinks that the child's explorations should carry him around the animate and the inanimate, and back to the human world, in both directions.
