Abstract
- The article presents information about the honorary fellows of the American Society of Animal Science, 2005. Louis J. Boyd earned his B.S. in 1950 and M.S. in 1951 at the University of Kentucky and his Ph.D. in 1956 at the University of Illinois. Boyd was a scientist and extension specialist in dairy cattle reproduction in the Department of Dairy Science at the University of Tennessee (1956-1962) and Michigan State University (1963-1972). Harold (Skip) Hintz is Professor of Animal Science at Cornell University. Hintz received his B.S. in animal science from the Ohio State University (1959) and his M.S. (1961) and Ph.D. (1963) in animal nutrition from Cornell University. Hintz recognized international authority on equine nutrition and is the author of more than 190 peer-reviewed scientific papers, mostly on equine nutrition, but also on the nutrition and metabolism of companion and exotic animals. Hintz's nutrition and management courses have a combined enrollment of 400 students per year.
