Abstract
- The article presents a projection on the effect of the increase in the discount rate on the economy in the U.S. It was reported that Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan has increased the discount rate to 6.5% due to fears of an upsurge in inflation. It is expected that an economic growth would precede an inflationary surge.
