Abstract
- The article cites a recent study by the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association. The study found that 87% of Canadians believe that market and survey research as a forum for providing input and feedback to corporate and government decision-makers, serves a valuable societal purpose because they can voice their opinions on important issues related to products, services and public policy. But deceptive telemarketing practices by unscrupulous direct sellers and fundraisers remain a threat to the goodwill that Canadians have for survey research.
