MEDLINE Access Extended to College of Physicians.

This article reports that the computerized databases of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) are being made available under a special arrangement to the 72,000 members of the American College of Physicians. For an annual fee of $200, individual members of the college will have virtually unlimited access to MEDLINE and other major databases of the NLM. It is reported that MEDLINE is an online file containing some 7 million references and abstracts to medical journal articles from 1966 to the present. The American College of Physicians is the nation's largest medical specialty organization, with more than 72,000 physician-members trained in internal medicine and internal medicine subspecialties.
