Abstract
- The article reports that the appointment of Laurence Tisch as CBS Inc. acting chief executive officer and William S. Paley as acting chairman gives the troubled company a temporary reprieve from takeover speculation. The company's problems increase a selection committee's difficulties in finding a chief executive officer. Problems include a decline in operating profits in 1985 and television programs that are showing signs of age.
