Abstract

The article discusses the status of newspaper as a medium for advertising in Canada. The newspaper is the oldest advertising medium around and despite its challenges it is still one of the largest. But with so many other media getting attention, its very hard to decide whether newspapers are getting its fair share of advertising pie. Newspapers, need to do a much better job at attracting marketers to their product. The biggest challenge faced by national newspaper representatives is gaining the ear and cooperation of the local dailies they represent, whose first priority is to fill the paper with compelling content, deliver it in quantity to homes and businesses while meeting the needs of local advertisers.
