Abstract
- The article presents information on Bell Canada Inc.'s consumer survey, which was conducted to know the views of parents and children on the use of Internet in education. The survey found that 72% of parents think the Internet gives their children a strong advantage in doing their homework and other academic pursuits. However, most kids would rather go online to e-mail friends or play games. Thirty-five per cent of parents said their kids would rather e-mail or chat with friends than use the Internet for studying. Parents in Saskatchewan and Manitoba were most likely to rank e-mailing and chatting with friends as their child's number one online activity.
