Abstract

The title compound, 3-[(4-amino-2-methylpyrimidin-5-yl)methyl]-5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-methylthiazolium tetraphenylborate monohydrate, C<subscript>12</subscript>H<subscript>17</subscript>N<subscript>4</subscript>OS<superscript>+</superscript>·C<subscript>24</subscript>H<subscript>20</subscript>B<superscript>−</superscript>·H<subscript>2</subscript>O, is a salt in which the thiamine cations are linked by hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional network having (4,4)-topology. The stacked sheets form channels, which are occupied by the anions; the cations and anions are linked by C—H⋯π(arene) hydrogen bonds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
