Preface.

This section introduces the book Arctic Environment Variability in the Context of Global Change. The book is dedicated to the description of many aspects of Arctic environmental variability: atmospheric chemistry, clouds and circulation dynamics; the role of the Arctic Ocean and sea ice in the climate system; land surface processes; pollution dynamics; marine ecosystems and regional climate change using north-western Russia as an example.
