Abstract

The article reflects on the need for Germany and Japan to take decisive measures to stimulate their own economies. It is argued that even though West German chancellor, Helmut Kohl, is committed to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), free trade and European integration, it does not affect Germany's reluctance to help in economic growth. It is stated that it is necessary for the U.S. to urge countries like Germany to help save global economic stagnancy.
