Abstract

The article provides an investment outlook for the bond market in the United States citing the effects of low inflation and increasing returns as of December 1985. The Standard and Poor's 500-stock index increased by 24 percent from January 1 to December 12, 1985 which has attracted investors into the bond market. Even traditional investors who want a secure, fixed income began buying bonds because of positive market returns.
