Abstract

This article focuses on the Justice 2 Committee's report "Inquiry Into Youth Justice" discussed by Bill Butler in the Scottish Parliament. In particular, education services had a vital role in the delivery of effective youth justice services, but they were not always sufficiently aware of the importance of their contribution nor were they effective in delivering it. Butler referred to the important role of the voluntary sector, and was pleased to hear the Justice Minister's clear encouragement to the voluntary sector to play its part in the development of local youth justice strategies.
