Abstract
- Researchers at the University of California Davis conducted a study on microRNAs in the older adult brain and their genetic contribution to neuropsychiatric conditions. They identified genetic variants associated with brain microRNA levels and found that many microRNAs have associated genetic regulation. By integrating their findings with genome-wide association studies, they identified microRNAs that likely contribute to bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia, and Parkinson's disease. This research advances understanding of the genetic regulation of microRNAs and their role in brain health and disease. [Extracted from the article]
