Abstract

A study conducted in northwestern Argentina focused on Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), an emerging infectious disease with a high mortality rate caused by rodent-borne viruses. Researchers evaluated rodent populations in different habitats and found an overall antibody prevalence of 10.18%, with certain species showing higher rates. The study also reported the first record of hantavirus antibodies in Euryoryzomys legatus. The research emphasizes the importance of monitoring rodent populations for public health prevention campaigns. [Extracted from the article]
