Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Nanjing Medical University examined the relationship between adenoma detection rate (ADR) and withdrawal time in different colon segments during colonoscopy procedures. The study found that ADR and withdrawal time varied across individual colon segments, with the ascending colon potentially requiring a shorter withdrawal time. Adenomas in the rectosigmoid colon were more easily detected and did not necessitate longer withdrawal times, suggesting the need for tailored approaches based on specific colon segments. The findings highlight the importance of adjusting withdrawal times based on the location within the colon to enhance adenoma detection rates. [Extracted from the article]
