Abstract

A recent study from Tezpur University in Assam, India, sheds light on Japanese Encephalitis (JE) infections in rural regions. The research explores the ecology of JE virus vectors and the occurrence of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and JEV infections. The study establishes a link between environmental factors, mosquito species abundance, and JE infection rates, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive epidemiological investigations to prevent outbreaks of JE in hotspot regions near rice fields.
