Abstract
- Severe flooding in northwest France, caused by Storm Herminia, led to the evacuation of thousands of people and left hundreds of homes without power. The worst flooding in 40 years in parts of Brittany was triggered by back-to-back storms, with three departments remaining on red alert due to heavy rain. The flooding also impacted grain crops in the region, while other parts of France and Portugal faced alerts for floods and heavy rains. Additionally, the Swiss Alps experienced avalanche risks, resulting in fatalities, with the threat level eventually being lowered. [Extracted from the article]
