Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research focused on the impact of non-optimal temperatures on cardiovascular diseases (CVD). The research projected a decline in CVD mortality rates due to temperature fluctuations, with regions of higher Socio-Demographic Index (SDI) showing more significant declines. However, the study also forecasted a substantial increase in CVD burden, with deaths expected to rise from 1.2 million in 2022 to 1.9 million by 2050. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating climate action into health systems to mitigate risks and reduce non-communicable disease mortality. [Extracted from the article]
