Abstract
- Researchers from Ain Shams University conducted a study on Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (WPW) and asymptomatic pre-excitation carriers in Africa, involving 541 participants from 17 countries. The study found that WPW syndrome was diagnosed in 93% of cases, with orthodromic atrioventricular reciprocating tachycardia (AVRT) being the most common arrhythmia. Treatment approaches varied across African regions, with radiofrequency ablation (RF) being the primary long-term therapy option for most patients. The research highlighted the need for additional government investments to improve diagnostic and treatment outcomes and reduce disparities between regions in Africa. [Extracted from the article]
