Abstract

A recent study conducted at Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences explored the potential of Ophiopogon japonicus polysaccharide (OJP) in reducing Doxorubicin-induced myocardial ferroptosis injury. The research found that OJP could ameliorate myocardial damage by decreasing ferroptosis-related markers and enhancing mitochondrial function. By activating the Nrf2/gpx4 signaling pathway, OJP showed promise as a novel therapeutic intervention for mitigating the adverse effects of Doxorubicin therapy on the heart.
