Abstract
- This paper studies the shock response of a vibration system with a nonlinear spring. The analysis is performed for one-degree and two degrees of freedom vibration models under free fall conditions. The acceleration and rebound displacement, which indicate the system's comfortability and stability, are evaluated in the time domain. The simulation results show that a vibration system with a nonlinear spring performs better than that with a linear spring in reducing the acceleration and rebound displacement of the main mass under shock load excitation.
