Abstract

A recent study conducted by the University of Michigan School of Public Health focused on the relationship between sleep quality and duration and the risk of falls in older adult women. The research found that poor sleep quality and shorter sleep duration were associated with an increased risk of falls and a greater number of falls in this demographic. The study emphasized the importance of promoting adequate, high-quality sleep as an essential component in fall prevention for older adult women.
