Abstract
- A study conducted by researchers at the Mailman School of Public Health focused on the use of blood-based biomarkers to aid in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) in a multi-ethnic, urban community-based cohort. The study included 546 individuals from different ethnic backgrounds and found that certain biomarkers, such as low Ab42 and high P-tau181/Ab42, were associated with a clinical diagnosis of AD. However, the study also highlighted the potential impact of multiple chronic conditions on the accuracy of biomarker-based diagnoses, suggesting the need for further research in large multi-ethnic community cohort studies.
