Abstract

The current study aims to monitor the Senna alata’s phytochemical constituents by GC-MS and FT-IR analysis. The phytochemical constituent of various solvent extracts of Senna alata leaves was identified by the gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) technique. The major constituents identified through GC-MS analysis were L-(+)-Ascorbic Acid 2,6- Dihexadecanoate, Hexadecanoic Acid, Morpholine, 3-(4,5-Dihydroxy) Phenyl-, 1,2-Benzene dicarboxylic Acid, Diethyl Ester and Neophytadiene. The FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of N-H, O-H, C=C, C-H, C=O and NO<subscript>2</subscript> functional groups. The result of this study will provide a platform for using Senna alata as an herbal alternative for various diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
