Abstract

Researchers at the First Affiliated Hospital conducted a study on renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and found that the long non-coding RNA OSTM1-AS1 plays a crucial role in promoting RCC progression by interacting with miR-491-5p and upregulating MMP-9. The study revealed that OSTM1-AS1 is highly expressed in RCC tissue and cell lines, and its suppression led to inhibition of tumor growth in mice. This research suggests that targeting the OSTM1-AS1/miR-491-5p/MMP-9 axis could be a promising therapeutic approach for RCC treatment. [Extracted from the article]
