Abstract

A study conducted at the Veneto Institute of Oncology in Padua, Italy, focused on the quality of life and perception of illness among patients who underwent total thyroidectomy for differentiated thyroid carcinoma. The research aimed to identify patient characteristics associated with a lower quality of life to personalize care. Findings showed associations between surgery type, pathology staging, and age with various aspects of well-being and perception of the disease. The study suggests personalized care approaches, such as providing more information to patients and implementing long-term physical activity programs, to improve outcomes for individuals with thyroid cancer.
