Isolation and characterization of a new polyoxometalate ligand, H3SbW14O5010−, and its interactions with f-elements.

Abstract
- We report the synthesis and characterization (Raman, FTIR, DLS, single crystal XRD) of Cs<subscript>10</subscript>H<subscript>3</subscript>SbW<subscript>14</subscript>O<subscript>50</subscript>·6H<subscript>2</subscript>O, which contains a new polyoxometalate building block: H<subscript>3</subscript>SbW<subscript>14</subscript>O<subscript>50</subscript><superscript>10−</superscript> (SbW<subscript>14</subscript>). Solution-state fluorescence, DLS, and UV-vis absorbance results with Nd<superscript>3+</superscript>, Eu<superscript>3+</superscript>, Am<superscript>3+</superscript>, and Cm<superscript>3+</superscript> confirm that SbW<subscript>14</subscript> acts as an efficient complexant and fluorescence sensitizer for f-elements.
