Abstract
- A study conducted at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, compared different sedation protocols for dynamic bronchoscopy in patients with expiratory central airway collapse. The research found that the combination of remimazolam and fentanyl (Protocol 3) showed significantly higher odds of achieving a better quality of assessment compared to other protocols. The study suggests that remimazolam/fentanyl is an effective sedation option for dynamic bronchoscopy, providing improved assessment quality without increasing post-anesthesia care unit stay. Larger prospective studies are needed to confirm these results. [Extracted from the article]
