Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia focused on ventilation effectiveness and incomplete mixing in air distribution design for airborne disease transmission. The study developed a new method for ventilation design and tested it in 22 rooms using tracer gas measurements. The research found that there is a substantial improvement potential in many cases, with ventilation effectiveness values ranging from 0.5 to 1.4. The study highlights the importance of considering spatial variation of concentration and risk in ventilation design for airborne transmission. [Extracted from the article]
