Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Soochow University focused on the evaluation of methylation-based cell type deconvolution methods for plasma cell-free DNA. The research highlighted the importance of understanding the tissue origin of cfDNA to detect changes in tissue homeostasis during disease progression or treatment. The study benchmarked five methods and emphasized the impact of factors such as reference marker selection, sequencing depth, and reference atlas completeness on deconvolution performance. The findings provide guidelines for selecting suitable methods based on sequencing depth and reference atlas completeness to enhance the performance of methylation-based cfDNA cell type deconvolution.
