Abstract

Researchers at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP) have developed a non-destructive method using computer vision to estimate morphometric measurements of chicken eggs from tomographic images. This approach, utilizing deep learning architectures, achieved an accuracy of up to 98.69% in extracting important measurements such as height, width, shell thickness, and volume. The study suggests that this alternative method could replace traditional invasive techniques, offering greater efficiency and accuracy in assessing egg quality in industrial and research settings. The research was supported by the Sao Paulo State Research Support Foundation and the Pernambuco State Science And Technology Support Foundation. [Extracted from the article]
