Abstract
- Researchers at King's College London conducted a scoping review on the experiences of children and parents during in-patient treatment for serious childhood illness, focusing on the use of technology as a support mechanism. The study identified three key themes: Children in hospital, Parents and their children, and Information and technology. Findings highlighted the importance of information giving, kindness, and play in hospital experiences, emphasizing the need for further research on the intertwined needs of parents and children in hospital settings. The research concluded that children prioritize normal experiences during in-patient care, revealing themselves as active producers of pseudo-safe spaces. [Extracted from the article]
