Abstract

This scientific article presents the results of measurements of the parameters of wind energy resources from 2013 to 2020, to compile a wind energy inventory for the city of Dashoguz (Turkmenistan), geographical coordinates 41°49′00″ N. w. 59°58′15″ E. etc., and for a height of 100 meters the following wind parameters were determined: average speed (more than 6 m/s), daily variability of wind speed (from 3 to 12.68 m/s), frequency interval of wind speed (mainly wind speed 3 m /from 1850 hours), the direction of the wind in which it blows (northeast–24.83%); of course, specific power (274.22 W/m<superscript>2</superscript>) and technical potential (4344.08 MW hour/km<superscript>2</superscript>). The results obtained show that the city of Dashoguz has large wind energy resources, and has every opportunity to operate wind power plants in parallel with traditional stations, which in turn will help manage load peaks and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
