Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Bezmialem Vakif University focused on investigating the relationship between tuber load and white matter pathways in children with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). The study included 24 children with TSC and 30 healthy controls, revealing changes in white matter tracts and correlations between tuber load, corpus callosum volume, and DTI metrics. The researchers concluded that white matter microstructure was significantly affected in TSC subjects, leading to a decrease in corpus callosum volume, and called for further comprehensive studies to explore the relationship between neurocognitive dysfunction, DTI metrics, and tuber and corpus callosum volume.
