Abstract

A study conducted at Virginia Tech compared the effectiveness of scene-independent and scene-dependent eye metrics in assessing trainees' performance in psychomotor tasks. The research found that scene-dependent eye metrics were more sensitive in evaluating performance levels than scene-independent metrics. The study's results have implications for improving operator competency and safety in training for psychomotor skills. The research was supported by the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
