Abstract
- A study conducted by the Federal University Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, aimed to assess the association between microcephaly and hearing disorders in children exposed or suspected of exposure to the Zika virus during the intrauterine period. The research found that hearing impairment, assessed using the automated auditory brainstem response (AABR) test, was not significantly associated with microcephaly or severe central nervous system alterations in the study population. This peer-reviewed study provides valuable insights into the impact of Zika virus exposure on children's health outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
