Abstract
- A study conducted in Shenzhen, People's Republic of China, explored the impact of childhood trauma on remission and treatment response in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) after 12 weeks of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) treatment. The research found that childhood abuse, such as physical abuse, emotional abuse, and sexual abuse, was associated with a lower likelihood of remission and response to treatment, while childhood neglect did not show the same association. The study included 572 patients with MDD, and the findings were published in General Hospital Psychiatry. [Extracted from the article]
