Abstract
- The U.S. Government seized a Dassault Falcon 900EX aircraft in the Dominican Republic owned by Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro Moros and affiliated persons due to violations of U.S. export control and sanctions laws. The seizure was part of a joint operation involving the Departments of Homeland Security, Justice, and Commerce. The investigation revealed that the aircraft was illegally purchased and exported to Venezuela, where it was used for Maduro's personal and professional activities. The case highlights the escalating tensions between the U.S. and Venezuelan governments following disputed elections and repression of political opponents by the Maduro administration.
