Abstract
- A recent report from the University of Palermo discusses the accuracy and outcomes of sentinel lymph node biopsy in male breast cancer patients. The study highlights that male breast cancer is a rare disease, accounting for less than 1% of all breast cancer cases. While sentinel lymph node biopsy shows high diagnostic accuracy in men with low false-negative rates, there is ongoing debate about its long-term impact on clinical outcomes, particularly for patients with sentinel node metastasis. Further research is needed to refine the application of sentinel lymph node biopsy in male breast cancer management and assess its long-term oncologic outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
