Abstract

This research investigates the concept of resource enablement, defined as the degree to which a resource facilitates or reinforces the effectiveness of other resources through combination or integration. Resource enablement is characterised by two primary components: facilitation, making possible or easier, and reinforcement, strengthening or supporting. This study also introduces theconcept of resource miscibility and highlights its role, along with resource complementarity, as two primary dimensions of resource enablement. By examining the synergistic interactions among resources, this research advances the resource-based view and resource-advantage theory, providing new insights into how certain resources contribute to forming superior resource configurations that, in turn, drive competitive advantage. These findings provide actionable insights for firms to strategically deploy and align resources to form superior resource configurations. Future research should investigate the distinct roles of various resource types in resource enablement and extend the concept of miscibility to other marketing contexts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
