Abstract

The aim of the present study was to determine the evapotranspiration (ET) of sudangrass for silage first crop grown under optimum irrigation conditions on meadow-cinnamon soil. For the area of the town of. A field experiment was carried out with sudangrass (cv. Endje-1) during the period 2021-2023 for the field experiment in Stara Zagora (Bulgaria). On the basis of tracking the dynamics of soil moisture (75-80%) of the FC the following variants were studied: lime. 1 - no irrigation, var. 2 - optimum irrigation - 100% irrigation rate, var. 3 - irrigation with 70% of the calculated irrigation rate and var. 4 - irrigation with 40% of the calculated irrigation rate. Evapotranspiration (ET) was established for optimally irrigated variant 2 by water balance calculations. For the soil-climatic conditions of the region, the mean daily ET of sudangrass, during the three years of the study was dependent on the weather conditions during the months of active crop vegetation and ranged from 0.90 to 4.23 mm. ET reached its maximum in the emergence phase (4.4 mm) per day in the middle of the second ten days of August. The total evapotranspiration of the sudangrass, while maintaining 75-80% of the ET, averaged 290.43 mm over the experimental study period. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
