Abstract

A recent survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York found that the share of US households expecting their financial situations to improve in the next year is at its highest level since early 2020. About 38% of consumers anticipate being better off, while the percentage of those expecting a worse financial situation has decreased. The survey also revealed that Americans have a brighter outlook for equities and expect income growth to increase, although inflation expectations have also risen slightly.
